Hi Alex...I am out in California and wish I could have you out here for a day!!! I am going to visit some first graders next week and am wondering how to explain my cochlear implant to them. I like your explanation and will definitely use that as a guide. I also have a hearing dog, so I think the dog is going to upstage me! I think I may let the kids know that some people are just born different such as without hearing or less hearing. My loss was actually progressive so I was fortunate to have some hearing as a child. Good luck with school...you sound like a great role model for people with hearing loss (and hearing gain!!). Lynn
