There are MANY insurance companies that have made bilateral cochlear implantation as the standard of care.

Tips to find out if you have this coverage:

-Read the health plan from your employer

-Determine if this is covered

-Read the medical policy (determines if medically necessary)

-Are you a candidate for this?

-Is this the right "treatment" for you?

-Contact your insurance health carrier (usually one is assigned to each employer so your Human Resources Department should give you the name for this insurance person)

-Make an appointment with your audiologist to discuss if this is right for you

-OMS (Cochlear's free insurance help) might be a great place for information too!  1-800-633-4667

Don't forget to check out some of the bilateral recipients on the Community to learn about their experience to see if this is right for you!

Good luck!
