Additional tweaking of my map

I went to the audiologist last week and had some additional tweaking of my map. My right ear is close to being maxed out, or I should say, receiving full potential.

 

I had my P2 reserved for ADRO with Telecoil mix (MT). Prior, I didn't have a program dedicated for the telecoil but after a few months of accidently increasing the volume/sensitivity when I was only trying to activate the telecoil, I decided it was time to reserve a program for it.

 

That's great that the new Nucleus 5 has the Auto-Telecoil and the remote control. Since I had my Nucleus Freedom implanted 9 months ago, I doubt I would qualify for an upgrade from my insurance unless I pay for it myself.

Great idea about a program for the telecoil. Right now I don't use telecoil much, but maybe in the future I might. What do you find you use the MT for mostly? I am in the same boat about getting an upgrade from my Freedom to Nucleus 5 since I received mine in April. Who knows maybe we'll get lucky since they mentioned Freedom patients were the first to be able to upgrade! Lisa W. :-)

For some reason I lost my MT program going to have to get back in and have that checked. Yes it will be interesting to see how the upgrade program works and where we fit in I am sure we will get lucky.-SharonC

HI Carla-At my last mapping I had one program slot dedicated to having telecoil and I love it. I'm a farmer with a farm market and with having to answer lots of phone calls, the dedicated telecoil program slot makes it easier as in the past at times I would not engage telecoil correctly or quick enough. The auto-telecoil on the Nucleus 5 sounds like a winner to me as well. I am also hoping that Cochlear will have a generous trade in program for my 9 month old Freedom as well as I would love to take advantage of all of the features of the Nucleus 5! with double ci joy, Margo
