Insurance Issues????!!!!! You Got To BE KIDDING ME, READ THIS!!!

You got to be kidding me is exactly what I said!!! I go from one extreme to the other. After several weeks of dealing with my work benefits and the Anthem Blue Cross Representive I found out today by phone and mail that Anthem indeed did not know what they said or was doing (Yeah Right) and that I am certified qualified and covered in full for a Cochlear inplant and that they scheduled my surgery date 1 Week from this coming Monday July 19th!!!! Can you all believe this, I felt like Santa Claus came to town, I cannot wait to start the journey!! I am just really worried about the complications that can happen from surgery but from reading all the peoples post its worth the risk. At this time I want to apologize for not making to many comments to people or High Fiveing them. I am a father of 3, work full time, goto church, on the Board of Directors for 2 hunting organizations, raise and train coon dogs and summer time sports. I am looking forward to the time off work after surgery and will have alot more time to give a day by day account after the surgery. Thanks to all for encouraging me, praying and lifting me up.

Bradley, it sure looks like you are on your way! July 19, is so close! Has the hospital given you a time? I am happy that the insurance came through. You will be fine. The risks of surgery are minimal. The gains are tremedous! Good luck and God bless you. Iola

I have not gotten use to this message board yet. Iola I sent a response but then come back to this blog and my response is not here so I will do it again. LOL. Okay due to insurance issues I will have the op at 9 am and be released the next morning at 8 am if all is good. Insurance says if you ain't there for 24 hours then its considered outpatient.

Bradley - talk about Christmas in July! But at least it's about to happen now! My surgery kind of happened about that fast, too - went for appointment with audi and surgeon on July 16th (last year)- left with a surgery date of July 24th! Good to keep busy, helps the time pass more quickly. You'll be fine. ~Karen

That is wonderful to hear that your insurance is going to cover the CI implant surgery and all. When I read your first post a week or so ago, I thought to myself that it was odd that Anthem BCBS was not covering. I figured it was someone new who didn't know something somewhere and I'm so glad you found that out NOW instead of later. God Bless you and we will be thinking of you come surgery day. Just remember lots of patience and perseverance. Each person's journey is so different and alot depends on us and a good CI audi. Wishing you the best! Sonya

I am glad you have your date and you are on your journey. Even tho we all had the same surgery the results are different for everyone. I hope you have a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery.

Good luck to you Brad!! Like you I don't blog too much, hardly any, but I do enjoy reading what everyone says. You will do just fine. I had my surgery and went home that same day, total about 6 hours in the hospital. You will enjoy your new hearing adventure. Good luck Fred
