Dacy Z - Awareness Manager - Canada

My Story

Hi! My name is Dacy (it's like Stacy - but with a "D"!) I also commonly answer to "Mom", "Taxi", or "Cook" for those under 4 feet tall! I am the proud owner of one eight year old "Callie" and one seven year old "Lexie".

Callie and Lexie were both born profoundly deaf.  They each received their 1st cochlear implant at 12 months old in Calgary Alberta Canada. Then both girls went in together on the same day, in back-to-back surgeries for their second side bilateral in October 2007 in Dallas Texas. Dr. Park in Calgary, and Dr. Peters in Dallas have been a blessing to our family and we greatly appreciate their wonderful staff who help make it all happen!

Now we have moved on to a regular maintenance routine and both Callie and Lexie are doing just great! They attend a mainstream elementary school and are both competitive gymnasts.

I was a volunteer with the Cochlear Awareness Network for a few years and then joined Cochlear Canada as the full time Awareness Manager 3 years ago. I am excited to be here and so thankful for all the amazing people that I have met over the past few years on our CI highway!

Please contact me anytime or let me know if I can help you on your journey! =) Dacy
