My Progress since the A-day

Since my activation day, I'm enjoying the new bionic every minute of it! I went to the post office to drop off a parcel. I heard the cashier ask without looking at me, "What's your phone number?" referring to the mailing label. In the back of my mind, I couldn't believe my eyes! It was pretty awesome!

I am currently learning how to play the piano. I'm able to differentiate the sounds of the keynotes. Does anyone here play, too?

Glad you are doing well since activation and that you are enjoying it so much, too. Good luck with the piano lessons. I don't play, but my son has a keyboard and I think I will try it to see how well I can distinguish the notes. I do OK on the music training on Sound and Way Beyond, but other music is not sounding quite right yet for me, but I have only been activated for a month.

Debbie, you are really doing fantastic! I used to play the piano years ago, but have sort of given it up for the time being. It is exciting that you are now learning how to play. I hope it will bring you much happiness. Hannah

Congrats - you are off to a great start, Debbie! Wow - that you are already tackling playing the piano shows how determined you are! One of the most fulfilling pleasures for me was the realization that I could again hear/understand what someone said without looking at them and reading their lips. -Karen

I thought it was neat also to be able hear the different sounds of the keyboard. Good luck with your lessons. Don

Thanks, everyone! I was in my room listening to the TV from another room. I was busy doing something when I heard a male voice counting the numbers, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...(and started laughing) I could hear the numbers clearly than before when I wore two hearing aids! Cochlear rocks!
