Honor Society Community Project

October 02, 2011
posted by  Brenda Shepherd-Cochlear Awareness Network Ambassador

As President of Epsilon Omega Epsilon Distance Education Honor Society, of Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX,  I am required to create and carryout a community project. As a Bilateral Cochlear

recipient, it is a no-brainer that my project will be an Outreach to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

I have received clearance to attend classes of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in Denton ISD, and read to them as part of my project.

I will also be spending a few hours on the TWU campus in Denton hosting a booth with Cochlear materials, and Dallas Hearing Foundation materials to promote both during October in honor of Hearing Loss Awareness month.

I will be speaking about my hearing loss journey, Cochlear, and Dallas Hearing Foundation, for two hours during lunch time on campus in the Student Union.

I am so excited to be able to promote my passion for hearing loss awareness and the journey I have been on the past five years.

I will post my date to be on campus when I get my reservation this next week, and when I am in the classroom.

I will take pictures and post them of 'Bilateral  Bionic Brenda in Action' each time I am serving.

I appreciate all who allow me to share my passion with others!
