Thanksgiving Thoughts...

November 24, 2011
posted by  Jimbolions - Cochlear Volunteer

Just a few of the things I'm thankful for today...

I can hear my grandson call my name...

I can hear the oven timer go off when my chicken wing strips are ready...

I know when I've left the water running... I don't have to worry about flooding the joint any more...

And I can hear my grandson call my name...

We're deep frying a turkey in the back yard. I'll hear the fire trucks coming...

I  hear the trains going by late at night if I'm up writing (but I take my CI's off when I sleep, so I sleep like a rock while they rumble by).

I'm a lousy driver, so I'm thankful for the horns I get everytime I do something stupid behind the wheel. (And I read lips just enough to know what the other driver is saying).

I can listen to the radio. Who the heck are all these bands I've never heard of??  Who or what is a Lady GaGa? Is that a singer or a medical condition? What happened to the bands I grew up with? Paul McCartney is HOW OLD now??  Holy cannoli....

And I can hear my grandson call my name...did I mention that one??
