The Past 4 Days Were Some of the Best!

I just returned to Dallas from Denver last night; I am currently reflecting on these past four days…

Well, these past four days were phenomenal!!  I mean, WOW!!!  It was definitely some of the best days of my life!

As you all may have already read from my previous blog, I flew from Dallas to Denver to attend a three-day Cochlear Awareness Network (CAN) Manager Training Event at Cochlear’s North Americas Headquarters.  For the first time, I got to meet each and every one of the CAN Managers except for Ally who couldn’t make it. Dacy, DeeDee, Joe M., Joe P, Kara, Linda D., Linda H., Lisa, Mark, Parri, Paula, Scott, and Brandy, it was so great getting to know each and everyone of you.  I was completely moved by all of your talents, perspectives, and background.  You just made my life so much more enriching and deeper -- thank you!

What really blew me away about these outstanding people is that they are all from different walks of life, had different hearing journeys, and have incredible backgrounds.  They are so passionate in helping people like us on our hearing journeys.  This world is a better place because of you all!  I am going to miss interacting with them face-to-face daily, but I know that I will be working with them in many alternative ways.

One of the coolest things that I got to do was meet the worldwide/global C.E.O. of Cochlear -- Chris Roberts.  I really admire this amazing gentleman, and I really look up to him.  He was very interested in my hearing journey as well as my internship experience from this summer and asked a lot of great questions.  I am truly honored to have met him; he is a kind and passionate gentleman that desires nothing but the best for cochlear implant recipients like us!

This event was really a great pep rally for the beginning of my position with Cochlear, which will officially start on September 13th.  I am very excited and cannot wait!

Happy hearing,

Michael

Michael, How lucky and fortunate you were to meet all those wonderful people at one meeting. I bet the enthusiasm and inspiration were bouncing off the walls in the Denver office. I feel that the fact that there are so many "real" people with "real"ife experiences to draw from associated with Cochlear Americas is why Cochlear Americas is such a great company. All those people were also lucky and fortunate to meet you as well!! Happy Hearing my friend. Wayne
