new sounds galore!!

had a mapping on monday this past week, and i am just amazed at the little things i hear!! last nite was a first, i heard the fire crackling in the grill, decided to have hamburgers on the grill, my hubby is the griller, but being i am home, my job is to get the grill fired up, so got the charcoal going, and then went back out to check to see how it was doing, and i could hear the crackling of the fire. WOW! dont recall ever being able to hear that, and if i did, i was so long ago!!

I have also noticed that i can get away with having the tv at a softer volume than the rest of my family and i STILL can understand what is being said - even without closed caption, still have not turned it off yet, i do need it sometimes. My regular news station - the reporters dont sound like chipmunks anymore.

More and more people are getting normal sounding - the helium must be wearing off!! LOL

have a great Friday the 13th everyone!!! and a great upcoming weekend!! I am happy!!Smile

Terri this is so Great. What an encouragement for others who read this and are still a little nervous. This will give them courage to move forward. It may take some longer or shorter to adapt but they will get there when they make the decision to hear again. Thank you so much for sharing this. "Awesome" news. ~SharonC~

You are talking music to my ears. I hope I have the type of good luck you have had with hearing again.

Hope I can do the same with TV, so I can turn off the captions if only sometimes. I do better in meetings than with TV. (-:
