Hi Sylvia, I'm a Single-sided Baha (Divino) user. I have used an FM or Loop system in addition to wearing the Baha in several situations - courtroom and theater. Depending upon the system, it might cause some "crackling" noise that is unpleasant and louder than the voices you're trying to hear. Since it's a school issue, you should be able to work with the guidance counselors and/or the speech pathologist or disability specialist to get to the bottom of the issue. Working with the audiologist is also an option. If you're not getting the help you need from those sources or you still can't figure out the problem, try to contact your local commission for the deaf and hard of hearing. They should be willing to send out a case worker to help you get to the bottom of the problem for your daughter.
Let us know how things turn out and if you have other questions. Good luck!
Does anyone have experience wearing Divinos and the use of FM systems at school or other location? My daughter wears 2 Divinos and her school purchased a special hook for her Divinos that is used in conjunction with the teacher wearing an FM system. I might be mixing up terms. But, she refused to wear the attachments to her BAHAs. She says it is too loud but isn't capable of giving more detail. We think the Divinos might need to be reprogrammed and tested by her audiologist w/ this FM system hookup attached. Does anyone have input on this? Thank you! Sylvia
