Cochlear Celebration 2011

HI Everyone! Last Celebration, me & my family (kids & husband) statyed at the host hotel, while my parents stayed at a neighboring hotel. I have to say, my parents missed out on all the "informal" activities. It is so awesome to see "Cochlear Planet" (that's what I call it) when you are walking around the hotel. There are adults & kids with CIs and people just stop at talk to each other, share and connect about so many wonderful things. My parents ended up staying so late in the conference hotel and then went back to their own hotel after midnight. They then had to get up extra early to drive to the conference hotel from their own hotel to get to breakfast on time. They came late to one of the breakout sessions due to traffic. I can honestly tell you that they missed out on the experience since they decided to go to a different hotel.

When it was over, they stated they wished they had made their reservations at the conference hotel because they felt like THEY missed out. They do not have cochlear implants!!!

So, please consider staying at the conference hotel. The rate is pretty decent, the hotel is lovely, you won't miss out on the "expereince" and you really need to treat yourself to this wonderful time full of laughter, hope, sharing and connecting. I promise you won't regret it!
